Meal Plans

When can I start using my Dining Plan?

Fall dining plans go into effect on Sunday (dinner) prior to the 1st of the semester and end with lunch on the Friday of exam week. Spring dining plans go into effect on Sunday (dinner) prior to the start of the semester and end with lunch on the Friday of exam week.

Can I use my Dining Plan during academic breaks?

Dining Plans are not available during breaks, Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring.  Please contact Dining Services to discuss special accommodations if staying on campus.

When are meal periods?

Breakfast: 7 am - 10:45 am

Lunch: 11 am - 3:45 pm

Dinner: 4 pm - 9 pm

Late Night: 9 pm - 12 am

What if I want to change my Dining Plan?

Dining plans may be changed once during the first 28 calendar days of the semester. After the 28th calendar day of the semester all dining plans are final and non-refundable. Dining plan changes will reflect usage of the existing plan plus the full cost of the requested plan. Dining plans are not prorated. The Zip Card Office must receive full payment for the change before the plan will be changed. Dining plan change requests are processed Monday through Friday and must be received before noon on Friday. Requests to cancel or change the dining plans after cut-off dates will not be granted. The online dining plan change form can be found by logging into your “My Akron” account and, clicking on the Dining Plan change icon, then complete the information on the form for your change/cancel request.

Where can I purchase a Dining Plan?

You may purchase a dining plan at any time during the semester by
  • Visiting our Dining Services web page at http://www.uakron.edu/dining/ to purchase a dining plan with a credit card or electronic check.
  • Visiting our Dining Services web page at http://www.uakron.edu/dining/ to print and complete Dining Plan Agreement and contract. Then return it along with payment to any Zip Card office on campus.

Can I cancel my Dining Plan?

If you are in the Residence Halls, you may NOT cancel your dining plan. The only way your dining plan may be canceled is if you move out of housing. If you move out of housing and wish to cancel your dining plan, you may go into My Akron, click the Dining Services change / cancel icon to complete the form. All cancellation requests must be received prior to the 28th calendar day of the semester.

Can I get a refund?

After the 28th calendar day of the semester, all dining plans are final and non-refundable.

Do Dining Dollars carry over to the next semester?

Dining Dollars will carry forward between Fall and Spring semesters. You must purchase a Spring dining plan in order for Fall Dining Dollars to roll over to the Spring semester. Any of your Dining Dollars remaining after the end of the Spring semester will be forfeited.

What is a Block Meal Plan?

Block meal plans offer a set number of meals that can be used during the semester. You may use your block meals at Rob’s Café, Union Market, POD Markets and other participating locations. 1 Block meal may be used during each meal period.

Where can I use my Block Meals?

You may use your block meals at Rob’s Café, Union Market, Climbing Rock Café, Freshens and all on campus convenience stores

How do I create an account?

Click the "Login" button, and then on the login page click the "create a new account" link.
